The Feline Fine Art Snail Mail Club combines all the things I love writing and talking about: cats, art history, and snail mail!
Snail mail clubs are the perfect opportunity to slow down. In an age of AI, doom scrolling, and constant movement, this is a chance to step away and be inspired by art and cats from the past.
Each months includes a newsletter, where I share a bit about the work of art featuring a cat (and public domain of course), the artist, my reflections on the painting (because cats always are teaching us something!), and fun facts. Also included are:
- A 4x6 print of the painting on 18pt ultra premium smooth white paper
- A bookmark from the same artist or time period (featuring cats of course!)
- Two stickers! A sticker of the cat featured in the print and a special sticker of my cat Gamgee (mainly because I think he’s super cute)
You can join The Feline Fine Art Snail Mail Club at any time during the month. To receive that month's mailing, please sign up by the 25th of the month. If you join after the 25th, your first snail mail will be sent with the following month's mailing. Each package is sent via snail mail, so there is no tracking. That’s part of the charm!
October's mailing features artist Henriëtte Ronner-Knip and her painting Cat at Play (c.1860-1878). The bookmark, also by Ronner-Knip, is Kat (1896).
A little bit about me:
I’m Jamie! A book editor for Penguin Random House by day and an Art Historian in the making by night (one year left in my Master’s Program!). A lot of my research is on cats in art, so naturally I want to share with everyone what I learn - thus a snail mail club.
